Community Centers and Senior Centers offer a variety of programs for socialization, recreation and fitness. They may have art classes, exercise classes, card games, Bingo, travel opportunities, etc. Many also offer outreach programs/educational programs and health screenings throughout the year, as well as assistance with tax preparation. Some also offer transportation programs.
Many of these Centers offer noon meals at a low cost that are funded by the Older Americans Act. These are intended to provide persons 60 years of age and older with a nutritional mean during the week as well as socialization.
